21 Days The Very Best of Uganda Safari takes you to almost the whole Uganda. Through all corners winding and enjoying the Ultimate African safari experience, this safari shall take you to The Source of the Nile-the world’s longest river, to the cascading Sipi Falls (a series of three falls decorating the lowlands of Mount. Elgon).

The safari takes you to Mountain Elgon for a volcanoes climbing experience, to Pian-Upe Game Reserve for some of the most rare wildlife species and birds that can’t be seen anywhere else around Uganda like the Roan Antelope, the Common Ostrich and Karamoja Apalis.

DAY 1ARRIVAL AND TRANSFER TO JINJA

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be met by our company guide who shall brief you about your “21 Days The Very Best Of Uganda Safari”.

After a break from your flight, transfer to Jinja, have lunch and there after embark on a sunset cruise to visit the Source of the Nile.

Check in at your hotel for dinner and overnight stay

DAY 2JINJA TO SIPI, ON THE FOOTHILLS OF MOUNT. ELGON.

After your early morning breakfast, transfer top Sipi Falls in Kapchorwa in eastern Uganda with en-route lunch at Mbale as you gaze at the table Mountains in the background of the town.

Continue to Sipi and hike the three falls that originate from Mount. Elgon. This hike is a good start to prepare you for the Mount. Elgon climbing experience.

After the hike, check-in at your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 3SIPI FALLS TO MOUNT. ELGON

In the morning after breakfast, go for a hike to the Mt. Elgon forest exploration center for the Volcanoes Climbing experience. The hike shall provide you with views of regenerating forests, fields of colourful flowers, extensive stands of bamboo and several bird species like the black chested bee-eater and numerous caves and falls along the hiking trail.

A long ‘arm’ of Mt. Elgon bears the Wanale trails loop site. It has vertical cliffs of ridge and several cascading waterfalls that make a very scenic drive. Look for petrified wood in the Khauka caves as you enjoy splendid panoramic view over the plains of Eastern Uganda.

Have lunch boxes during the hike and late evening descend down, return to your hotel and retire after dinner.

DAY 4MOUNT. ELGON TO PIAN UPE GAME RESERVE

Today you will have an early morning breakfast, check out of your hotel and set off for Pian-Upe Game reserve that lies North-East of Sipi.

Have lunch at your safari camp and later embark on the trek to visit the Karamajong homesteads who are the native occupants of this area. Engage with them as they take you through their social way of life.

Return to your safari camp and retire for dinner and overnight.

DAY 5PIAN UPE TO KIDEPO NATIONAL PARK

Wake up for early morning breakfast and set out for a game drive in the Pian-Upe Game reserve.

While out in the fields, look out for the honey badger, the Roan Antelope, Giraffe and lots of bird species including the silver bird and other unique bird species like the Karamoja Apalis.

After the Game drive, drive out for lunch at Moroto and there after embark on your journey to Kidepo National Park reaching late evening.

Check in to your safari lodge, have dinner and retire for the over night.

DAY 6KIDEPO NATIONAL PARK. (GAME DRIVE AND COMMUNITY TOUR)

Today you will wake up early morning and have an early breakfast after which you will set off for a game drive safari through the park.

The game drive shall offer you an opportunity to view spectacular scenery in the Narus valley and encounter lots of animals including Elephants, lions, big herds of buffalo, hyenas and zebras, among others.

Kidepo is well known for its serenity and big numbers of wildlife and unique birds like the secretary bird that can only be seen in this part of the country.

Return at the lodge for lunch and rest before going for a community tour in the Karamajong communities on the outskirts of the park.

On your way back to the lodge, have a sunset game drive and beautiful scenery views of the park

Have dinner at your lodge and overnight stay

DAY 7KIDEPO NATIONAL PARK TO MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK

After your early morning breakfast, check out of your lodge for the journey to Murchison Falls National Park.

As you drive out, you have another opportunity for yet another game drive to spot perhaps what you missed on the previous game drives.

Have lunch en-route and check into Murchison Falls National Park in the late afternoon.

On your drive to the lodge, another game drive awaits you. With unique serenity of rolling hills and a varsity of grasslands and animals for you to gaze at.

Check into your lodge, be treated to a yummy dinner and retire for the overnight.

DAY 8MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK (GAME DRIVE AND BOAT CRUISE)

After an early morning breakfast, join your guide for yet another version of a fabulous game drive. Spot out for Lions, Leopards, Elephants, Giraffe, Buffalo and herds of antelope.

The game drive gives you a chance to spot unique birds like the Northern Carmine Bee eater, Red throated Bee-eater, Silver bird among others.
After the game drive, return to the lodge for lunch and prepare for your afternoon boat cruise on the Victoria Nile.

The boat cruise takes you to the bottom of the falls, look out for various schools of hippos, crocodiles and elephants and buffalo quenching on the waters of the Nile.

The cruise will take you to the point where your hike to the top of the falls starts from. The hike takes between 45 minutes to 1 hour with unique serenity of the views of the Nile and the magnificent Murchison Falls as thousands of tones of water force through an eight meter gorge to plunge 45m below.

After your hike, cross the Nile back to your lodge for dinner and over night.

DAY 9MURCHISON FALLS TO KIBALE NATIONAL PARK

Wake up for yet another day of adventure. Have your early morning Breakfast, check out of your lodge and another version of a game drive before you drive out of the park.

Have lunch en-route to Kibale as you are showered with views of the Albertine escarpments in your background.

Be treated with enormous views of Tea estates through Fort Portal on your journey to Kibale National park where you shall reach late evening.

Check in to your lodge, for dinner and an over night. Relax as you await for yet another day of adventure.

DAY 10KIBALE NATIONAL PARK. (CHIMP TRACKING AND BIGODI SWAMP WALK)

Early morning breakfast and attend briefing by the park rangers after which you will set out for chimp trekking within the Kibale Forest. The guides will equip you with lots of information about the forest and the different flora and fauna including colorful variety of butterflies. After an exciting search for the elusive chimpanzees, you will return to the Lodge for lunch.

After lunch, you will go for a nature walk in the Bigodi swamp area and look out for most of the water loving bird species. The forest /Park has almost 335 species of birds with the Green Breasted Pita topping the list and therefore a good place for birders. Return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight stay as above.

DAY 11KIBALE NATIONAL PARK TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIOANL PARK

You will have breakfast and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will arrive well in time to enjoy lunch at the hotel and in the afternoon; go for a game drive in the Northern crater area for the black craters at the base of the Rwenzori Mountains and a visit to the salt lake.

You may be able to see some animals like the Elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, and warthogs among others. Return to the lodge and enjoy the evening sunset as it fades behind the majestic Rwenzori Mountains. Dinner and overnight at selected lodge. Meanwhile prepare for an early morning game drive through the Kasenyi plains looking out for Lions and Leopards.

DAY 12QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK. (GAME DRIVE AND BOAT CRUISE)

You will have early morning breakfast and go for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi area which is well known as the Kob mating grounds and therefore a perfect spot to see a lot of antelopes like the Kobs, Bushbucks, and Hartebeests. This makes the plains a good spot for the lions that come following their prey, leopards, elephants, buffalos and warthogs.

This game drive takes 2-3 hours and you will return to the lodge to clean up and later have lunch. In the afternoon, you will go for a launch cruise on the renowned Kazinga channel – famous for its highest hippopotamus concentration in the world! You will also see a lot of crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes and other animals as they come down to drink and bathe plus a great deal of birds on the channel banks. Return to the lodge for dinner and a great night at selected lodge

DAY 13ISHASHA TREE CLIMBING LIONS TO BWINDI NATIONAL PARK

This morning, you will check out of your lodge and set out for a game drive in the Ishasha area bracing yourself for a chance to see the rare tree climbing lions. The climbing lions can be seen lounging in the fig trees during mid morning as they rest from the previous night’s strenuous hunt!

You will have lunch in the Ishasha sector and after proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park in preparation for your next day Gorilla trek. Dinner and overnight stay at selected lodge.

DAY 14BWINDI (GORILLA TRACKING AND THE PYGMIES)

After an early morning breakfast, you will drive to the park headquarters for briefing with your packed lunch and later go for gorilla trekking, this could take 4-8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas.

After trekking, meet your driver and transfer back to the hotel where you will unwind as you reflect on the memorable gorilla trek. Later in the evening, visit the Batwa (pygmies) community for a cultural encounter. Dinner and overnight as above.

DAY 15BWINDI TO LAKE BUNYONYI

Today after breakfast, you will transfer from Bwindi to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale District. On your way, the spectacular views of the rolling hills and terraces are not something you should miss out.

Check in to your hotel, have lunch and relax.

After lunch and a bit of relaxing, we embark on a community tour and cycling experiences through the jugged rolling hills.

Later, return to the lodge for dinner and spectacular views of the lake, retire as we wait for the next day.

DAY 16BUNYONYI (BOAT RIDE AND ZIP LINING)

The day begins with a boat trip for sightseeing and birding on Lake Bunyonyi. Feel the wonders of nature as you will see big terraced hills, big valleys, big everything with people and forests! This can be combined with a nature walk and cultural visit to the Pygmies community to explore their life style.

As you get back to your lodge from the boat ride, you visit the Supreme adventure park that lies on one of the islands for the Zip Lining experience across the lake.

From there, return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 17LAKE BUNYONYI TO LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK

Have breakfast and embark on your journey to Lake Mburo National Park driving across the rolling hills and slopes of Kabale – known as “the Switzerland of Africa” and a stopover in Mbarara town for lunch.

Proceed to Lake Mburo and enter the Park with a game drive en-route which will enable you to see animals like zebras, topis, elands, impalas, buffaloes and antelopes. Dinner and overnight at selected Lodge.

DAY 18LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK (BAOT RIDE, GAME DRIVE, NATURE WALK)

Wake up for an early morning game drive and search for early risers and all other animals that you missed out in the previous evening’s game drive. Return to the Lodge for late breakfast and lunch. In the afternoon, you will go for a boat ride on Lake Mburo which will get you quite close to Crocodiles and Hippos.

For birders, this is one of the best place to find African Fin foot, Papyrus Gonolek, Bush Shrike, etc. The evening is spent on an evening boat cruise amidst the Hippos and relaxing at the Lodge observing game moving in the park. Later have Dinner and overnight at selected lodge.

DAY 19LAKE MBURO TO KAMPALA. (EQUATOR EXPERIENCE EN-ROUTE

Breakfast will be served early and after go for the hyena walk with in the Park. This is a guided walk where you will be escorted by a park ranger from the Uganda wildlife Authority for security purposes and to provide you with more information about the Park and the trail.

Return to the lodge after the walk and transfer to Kampala with a lunch stopover en-route and at the equator for photography and the experiment. Proceed to Kampala arriving in the evening. Dinner and overnight at selected hotel.

DAY 20ALL DAY KAMPALA (CITY TOUR AND NIGHT LIFE)

After breakfast today, check out of your hotel and go for a massage at a health spa, that shall help to relieve off the fatigue of the long safari.

DAY 21TRANSFER TO AIRPORT AND END OF TRIP

You will check out of the hotel,your driver and guide will drive you to the airport marking the end of your 21 days adventure
