The journey up the mountain is about five minutes by using a cableway that rotates 360 degrees during the trip to give you spectacular views of the mountain below.

“Legend has it that the tablecloth of clouds that pours over the mountain when the southeaster wind blows is the result of a smoking contest between the devil and a retired sea captain called Jan van Hunks”

You will then visit the Victoria and Alfred (VA) Waterfront known as “where the City meets the Sea” located in South Africa’s oldest working harbour. There’s a collection of outdoor shops and restaurants with a local marimba band performing casually on the corners.where you will have lunch at the one of the restaurants at the marina and go for an evening Boat Cruise to watch the sunset.

It is also a sheltered spot for a picnic, and a safe place for swimming. Although the penguins are likely to come within, visitors are not allowed to make contact with them. This is for their safety and yours, as they have sharp beaks and will use them to defend themselves if they feel threatened.
